Wolf Laurel Resort Receives News Coverage in
Europe With Recent Interview in Switzerland
- NC property values sell at a
fraction of the price of European mountain property and the weak
Dollar compared to the Euro make $300,000 lots almost a giveaway for
European investors.
New Web Cam Coming February 15, 2007
- It will be aimed across the valley at the
spectacular high mountain ridges of Wolf Laurel Resort during
Spring, Summer & Fall. Be sure to check out the sunsets as the views
will stretch way into Tennessee. In the winter, the camera will turn
toward the top of the expanding Scenic Wolf Ski Slopes so you can
see for yourself the long-distance winter views and slope
conditions. Now visitors and homeowners can plan their activities in
advance based on the weather station forecast and also see real time
pictures of our beautiful resort.

NC Mountaintop Homes Debate
- Scenic Wolf Ridge Resort and our area receives national coverage
in the Christian Science Monitor Newspaper. Personally we believe
part of the article is somewhat biased and prejudiced but at least
they accurately point out the growing demand for quality high
mountain communities and the interest in our NC mountains.
Quoting the article: "Today,
the mountains are seeing a "perfect confluence" for mountaintop
development, as hurricane insurance costs have tripled in Florida
over the last year due to the hurricanes and Americans are looking
for more security post-9/11, says James Chung of Reach Advisors, a
consumer research firm in Boston.
As the overall real
estate market slowly cools, high-end resort development is booming,
experts say. For example, in 2000, just over 500,000 vacation homes
were sold. That figure tipped 1 million homes for the first time
last year, according to Reach Advisors."
Eating Out At Wolf Laurel -
The Wolf Laurel
Country Club is now open for lunch, dinner & drinks,
(members only). The
Lodge at Wolf Ridge (Steak & Ribs) should open sometime around
the middle of May. Also we are sad to hear that
Little
Creek Cafe in business since 1951 has closed its doors but Steve
Martin at Breakaway Village indicates that by mid-summer they should
have an open-air eating establishment near their planned village
center.
In addition, gas, lunch and dinner is
now available at Wolf Creek Market at the I-26 interstate highway
exit. There are a lot of changes and growth in the area and
you haven't seen anything yet!!!
Ridge-Top Resorts Bring Rich Homeowners &
Environmental Concerns -
The
unnamed reporter for the Asheville Citizen-Times newspaper writing
this special report should also have highlighted the jobs, tourism
and trickle-down economic benefits good development brings to the
mountains. Here at Wolf Laurel Resort, we have been benefiting both
Yancey and Madison Counties since the 1960's.
Wolf Ridge &
Madison Country Rezoning: Economy vs Tradition
- Madison County to decide
the fate of hundreds of acres tonight. Development and change are
never easy but this area will develop due to our proximity to
Asheville and the new interstate highway.
